FAQS

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore lost volume, soften lines and enhance facial features. Most are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps maintain hydration and volume.

Lily takes a subtle, personalised approach to dermal fillers, focusing on enhancing your natural features rather than dramatically changing the way you look.

What Can Dermal Fillers Be Used For?

Dermal fillers can be used in different areas of the face depending on your individual features and what you would like to achieve. Treatments can include:

  • Adding subtle volume and definition to the lips

  • Restoring lost volume in the cheeks

  • Enhancing the chin and jawline

  • Softening deeper lines and folds

  • Improving overall facial balance and proportion

Every treatment is carefully tailored to you, with the aim of achieving a fresh, natural-looking result.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Results are visible immediately, although some swelling is normal and the final result will become clearer as this settles. Hyaluronic acid fillers generally last around 6–18 months, depending on the area treated, the product used and how your body metabolises it.

What Is the Downtime After Dermal Fillers?

Downtime is usually minimal and most people can return to their normal activities soon after treatment. You may experience some temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising around the injection sites, which usually settles within a few days.

What Are the Side Effects of Dermal Fillers?

Common side effects include temporary swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising. Less commonly, lumps or infection can occur, while rare but serious complications can include vascular occlusion, which is why choosing an appropriately trained and experienced medical practitioner is particularly important for dermal fillers.

Lily will discuss the potential risks with you fully before treatment and make sure dermal fillers are appropriate for you.

What Is the Aftercare?

After your treatment, you'll be sent full aftercare instructions explaining how to look after the treated area and what to expect over the following days.

Will I Have a Consultation Before Treatment?

Absolutely. Before treatment, Lily will take the time to understand what you would like to achieve, assess your facial features and discuss the options available.

There is never a one-size-fits-all approach — the amount and placement of filler will be carefully considered to create a subtle result that complements your natural features.

Which Areas Can You Treat with Dermal Filler?

Dermal filler can be used across several areas of the face, including the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline and lines around the mouth.
